House of Osumare is a clothing brand inspired by Africa and its Diaspora–its colorful people, experiences, and environment.We are a slow fashion brand utilizing the traditional West African (Senegalese and Nigerian) dyeing techniques of thioup, adire, and batik. Our house’s name Osumare (pronounced O-SHU-mar-RAY) comes from the Yoruba people of Nigeria and Benin. Symbolized by the natural occurrence of the rainbow, Osumare is an orisha which represents prosperity, transformation, and creation.
